First Saturday Car Show

May the 4th kicked off the 2013 season of car shows near our home. The First and Main Town Center does a car show every first Saturday. Today’s show was hosted by the Mustang Club. I am a sucker for old Mustangs, I love those cars. I walked around and got some decent shots.

American White Pelicans

There have been some Pelicans hanging out at Fountain Creek Nature Center. I went down there at lunch today. I guess I can probably blame “finding nemo”, whenever I do a pelican voice in my head, it has to have an Australian accent.

Big Horn Sheep

Today about 30 minutes before I left work I saw a tweet about a herd of Big Horns over by Glen Eyrie. I took the long way home and drove over to check it out. The herd was about 18 head, all Rams. These guys amaze me. The beat up horns, the marks on the foreheads, just the look they give you…”don’t get too close, I will KNOCK YOU OUT!” The guard indulged me and let me hang out for a bit and get some great images. enjoy!

Lie down with dogs

While walking the dogs yesterday, we took a little break so Laurie and Taylor could practice with the volleyball. I put my new 40mm pancake lens to good use.

Herons on the Lake

Spring means the return of the Great Blue Herons. They nest along a nearby creek, and fish this lake near my office during the day. There is one shot with a guys head in the foreground. The Heron had noticed his stringer of trout and was doing his best to get it. I included that shot to illustrate how close he got to the guy and his stringer of fish. The shots with the Heron on the dock, I just thought those were funny.

Raptor Sunday

Took a drive today and ran across a few things. Including a distant sighting of one of the Bald Eagles calling the Fountain Valley School home.

A Random Collection

A sunset, a monkey, some dogs, and mr. robin redbreast. enjoy!

Various Birds and one Squirrel

I have been out and about for a few days and had not downloaded my CF card. Here is what I have run across over the last few days.

Pikes Peak Childrens Museum’s New Years Eve at Noon Event

I volunteered to work the photo booth at New Years Eve at Noon. This event is a fundraiser for the Pikes Peak Children’s Museum. They had an awesome turnout this year, 1200+. The photo booth was a heck of a lot of fun. All the images will go up on the Pikes Peak Children’s museums facebook page. Here are a few of my favorites. IMG_7012

Another incredible sunset tonight along the Front Range.
