Scott Winkler Photo Gallery

Former Colorado College Center Scott Winkler Died unexpectedly this week at the age of 23. I was asked by John Taft, who’s son Charlie plays at CC, to put together any images I have of Scott. I hope these shots bring a little comfort and a smile to his friends and most importantly to his family.

Territory Days

Memorial Day weekend means Territory days. The birds are all part of “HawkQuest”.

Saturday Night Car Show

Made it over to the car show tonight. Lots of very nice cars.

DA BEARS!

Doug and Sheila called tonight, momma bear was asleep in the back yard with two babies. We were able to photograph them for a couple of hours.

First Saturday Car Show

May the 4th kicked off the 2013 season of car shows near our home. The First and Main Town Center does a car show every first Saturday. Today’s show was hosted by the Mustang Club. I am a sucker for old Mustangs, I love those cars. I walked around and got some decent shots.

American White Pelicans

There have been some Pelicans hanging out at Fountain Creek Nature Center. I went down there at lunch today. I guess I can probably blame “finding nemo”, whenever I do a pelican voice in my head, it has to have an Australian accent.

Bald Eagles of Fountain Valley School

A friend took me on the campus today to see the eagle’s nest. Both were there, and we were able to get a glimpse of both babies. I got caught changing settings and “chimping” and missed one of them take off from its perch! next time, next time.

Big Horn Sheep

Today about 30 minutes before I left work I saw a tweet about a herd of Big Horns over by Glen Eyrie. I took the long way home and drove over to check it out. The herd was about 18 head, all Rams. These guys amaze me. The beat up horns, the marks on the foreheads, just the look they give you…”don’t get too close, I will KNOCK YOU OUT!” The guard indulged me and let me hang out for a bit and get some great images. enjoy!

Snowy Day Herons

I went over to the lake at lunch yesterday. There was a gentle snow coming down, and three herons were on the same end of the lake. They were more interested in the fisherman’s stringers than me, so I managed to get pretty close.

Dressunited.com site Review

I recently ordered a t-shirt from Dress UnitedDress United is a great site for ordering custom shirts and other items and they are a sister site to printcopia.com. The design portion was great, very easy to use. Check out the images below, it shows the front side design portion, and the back side design portion. As you can see, I used my very cool logo for bigmanwithacamera.com. I did mess up the design portion a bit, on the front I should have put the text into two lines, and made it a bit bigger. That’s not the sites fault, it was strictly a design mistake. The back looks awesome. The quality of the t-shirt is great. It’s a nice hanes cotton. I am a big guy (duh!), the hanes 3x is not a very big 3x. Trust me, I have a bunch of 3x t-shirts! it fits fine across the chest and belly, it is just not very long. So, when a big guy like me puts the shirt on and reaches for the sky, I might flash a little skin if you know what I mean! In short (hey, a pun!), the site is great. It’s super easy to make the design, and it’s also quite fun. I would highly recommend it. If you check them out, I have a coupon code for 30% off. Go to www.dressunited.com/redeem and type in the code BLOG30OFF4U. This code will give you 30% off and free shipping in the US. If you order a shirt, drop me a comment and let me know what you think.
