Hawks in Flight

Back to mom and dad hawk today. I promise, tomorrow I’ll go see if the hummingbirds are out yet.

Father hawk on Patrol

I am pretty sure this is the male of this breeding pair.

Herons and Hawks

Herons on my way into work, Hawks at lunch. The nesting pair was very active, on and off the nest several times.

A day in the park

to celebrate the end of tax season, and getting Laurie back, we all played hooky today. After a couple of errands we went to Fox Run park.

Herons in the Mist

There were 4 herons on one end of Quail Lake this morning. I managed to get two of them in a couple shots. I think they may have been the males of the two pairs, at one point they went at each other pretty good.

Herons in the Creek

Fountain Creek for lunch today, saw a pair of Herons fishing. They were as skittish as normal, so no shots of the two of them together.

Red Tailed Hawk Nest

Pretty sure this is the nest. I did, before I had my camera in my hands, get to see the hawks run off a Great Blue Heron who had landed in the tree near the nest. Always fun to see a blue heron land on a tree limb, all wings and legs.

Blue Heron on a Grey Day

I was at Quail Lake for Lunch, the Herons were both there. I swear my wife has talked to these two birds, every time I get within 50′ they fly away. I managed to sneak up on one down in the corner by the dock.

A sure sign of Spring

Went by my favorite pond today, and the Great Blue Heron is back. Taylor and I watched him for a little while why he fished for his lunch.

Sunny day Hawk

this guy was skittish as all get out, bolted when I got to close from the other side of the creek (approx 150 yards). He did however briefly fly right over head, once.
